THE LEAGUE:  The CMSA soccer league is open to players of all ability levels who are interested in playing soccer, having fun, and meeting new people. The league will offer both recreational and competitive divisions.  You do not need a team in order to sign up.  Uniforms will be provided to all players and teams.

CONTACT:  For more information on the league/registration, please email Paul/Kate at Soccer@Chicagomsa.org You can also view the FAQ section below to answer some of your questions.

FAQs

Do I need to sign up with a team?

Answer:

No, in fact, we don't even allow you the option.  CMSA soccer is currently designed to register individuals and then assign them to teams.  If you and some friends would like to play together, we encourage you to sign up in the same division (rec or comp), and then your games should be at about the same time.

If I haven't played ever or in years, is there a spot for me?

Answer:

We have a diverse set of skill levels within the league.  Some of our players have never played before, some have played a few seasons, some played in high school, and some played in college.  CMSA will assign individual players to create evenly balanced teams.  We hope that each team has a chance to win each week.

How social is the league?

Answer:

We have some players who have met very close friends through the league, and we have others who we only see for games.  In short, the league is as social as the members make it.  We are happy to arrange for a few social activities, but we also encourage our membership to plan events or outings.

What if I can't make it one or a few weeks?

Answer:

When determining team size, we take into account the normal "yield" for a week.  We may assign ten players to a team - knowing that about 8 will be available each week.  While we encourage you to attend every game, we understand that vacations, work, etc. all get in the way.
